SCENE – 18

Sumantha (Minister in the Ayodhya Kingdom) reaches Ayodhya, after taking leave from Sita, Ram and Lakshman.

He, as usual went to Rajdarbar.

Sumantha meets Kousalya Devi.

Sumantha explains all the things about Sita, Ram and Lakshman.

Kousalyabecame angry on her husband Dasarath.

Kousalya spoke some harsh words to Dasarath due to much angry.

Sumantha informed Kousalya as follows:

Sita, Ram and Lakshman had constructed one small Kuteer near to ValmikiMaharshi’s  Ashram.

They were in their routines while performing their dhyan, meditation and pujas etc, as per their pert-chart.

Kousalya Devi was informed not to worry about Sita, Ram and Lakshman.

Kousalya Devi was consoled by Sumantha and also informed that they were in their routine vana vasa deeksha.

The support of ValmikiMaharshi has been extended to Sita, Ram and Lakshman.

They were staying near to Ganga River.

Then later, Kousalya Devi met King Dasarath and banged him left and right, about the impediments and hardships confronted by Sita, Ram and Lakshman, because of you (Dasarath).

Because of Dasarath, the bad image has got to Raghuvamsa; and that all the prestige of Raghu Vamsa has been drowned in the Ganga River, said Kousalya.

Ram is the cool, calm and quiet person.

Kousalya to King Dasarath:

You made him to lead life in Aranya (Forest).

You fully heard the words of Kaikeyi and danced to her tunes.

You gave the commitments to Kaikeyi, but you have not given any commitments to us.

You have shown full partiality on us.

You have shown big affection on Bharath, the same affection you had not shown on Ram.

You have hurt our feelings.

Till Ram returned back to Ayodhya, you should not open any Treasury.

Also, you should not give or donate anydiamonds, gold and silver ornaments to anybody.

You have to open the Treasury in my presence, Kousalya said to Dasarath.

The total Treasury rooms are to be opened in the present of Ram and Lakshman and me (Kousalya).

You (Dasarath) or Kaikeyi or Bharath should not donate anything to anybody.

You (Dasarath) should not do anyyagas/kyagnas/homas for which I (Kousalya) will not agree.

I (Kousalya) will consult on all these things with Sumitra.

I (Kousalya) will explain all my feelings to Sumitra.

You (Dasarath) have become a tool in the hands of Kaikeyi.

We all lost confidence on you, Dasarath.

People of Ayodhya also lost their faith in you.

Kousalya to Dasarath:

You made Ram to spend in the forest for 14 years.

You will get a punishment for all your sins.

You have to suffer a lot for all your bad deeds.

Your heart has become a poisonous one.

You have no courtesy.

You have no kindness.

You are a deceiving husband

You are a cheater.

You are a cut-throat man.

You had made me like an orphan.

We are all getting angry on you.

There will be no King like you.

All other Kings of smaller Kingdoms are far better than you.

King Dasarath to Kousalya:

I am praying you whole-heartedly with folded hands.

You have shown much angry on me.

You spoke on me somany harsh words.

I am feeling bad, and still I am alive.

I agree that I made a sin.

I sent Ram, Sita and Lakshman to Aranyavasa.

Please forgive me.

I will go to Kaika and request her to withdraw her two commitments.

Look, Kousalya, I had lot of affection on you.

I do respect you.

But, I gave Kaikeyi these two commitments in a hurry.

That is the blunder I made.

I would have consulted you andSumitra.

My two big mistakes made people of Ayodhya to land in problems.

Even, I knew well that Rajdarbar staff is feeling bad on me.

I never expected that things will take this much bad shape.

So, look Kousalya, please pardon me.

Please be patient for few years.

Ram will be the King of Ayodhya.

I assure you for this.

You please do not worry.

Sita will be the Queen of Ayodhya.

Dasarath in so many ways convinced Kousalysa.

…………..

Dasarath went to his Rajmandir and slept because of his tiresomeness.
