Part 31 Sri Ramayana (Ayodhya Kaanda)
(Ayodhya Kaanda)
SCENE – 15
Sita, Ram and Lakshman were asked by Kaikeyi, to wear linen garments (Garments made with Jute material). Vasishta Maharshi lost control and gives warning to Kaikeyi not to speak and act in a rubbish way and also told her not be beyond the limits. VasishtaMaharshi felt bad and lost his temperament on Kaikeyi and advises Kaikeyi to be soft towards Sita, Ram and Lakshman. King Dasarath felt unhappy over Kaikeyi’s acts and deeds and feels a lot with Kaikeyi’s humiliation.
King Dasarath, Vasishta Maharshi and all others were present in the Rajmandir of Kaikeyi. At that time Ram told to others as follows:
Dear father, I do not need any type of help and support like diamonds, gold, and silver. If I’m given the “Garments made of Jute” (linen), I shall be happy to wear them during my Aranya vasa (forest) time.
Kaika:
Here are the “Garments made of pure Jute material.
Please wear these.
I’ll also give these Jute made Garments to Lakshman.
Sita also can wear Garments made of pure Jute.
Previous Chapter : Part 30 Sri Ramayana (Ayodhya Kaanda)
Sita:
She Looked towards Ram.
She was unable to understand how to wear these.
(Sita had not seen this type of Garments, earlier).
Ram:
Ram took the lead and had to cover this “Jute made cloths” (Nara made Saree) on her.
Everybody in the Rajmandir has seen this.
Rajmandir staff also was uncontrollably consoled and were impatient because of Rams Vana vasa.
Rajmandir staff and others cursed Kaikeyi and King Dasarath.
Few Rajmandir staff expressed like this: “King Dasarath did not tell Sita to go to Aranyavasa (Forest). Dasarath only told Ram to make Aranyavasa for 14 years. Sita cannot stay in the forest”
Vasishta Maharshi got angry on Kaikeyi and told like this – Look, Kaika, you have expressed all your ill-feelings on Ram and Sita. You’re behaving like a cruel woman. If you people follow any Dharma i.e., righteousness, then Sita need not go to Aranyavasa (Forest stay).
But, Sita is the wife of Ram.
Sita wanted to extend her best support to Ram even in Aranyavasa.
Sita herself is willingly going with Ram to Aranyavasa.
If we speak the truth and reality, Sita only has to Rule Ayodhya and not Bharath.
Sita can become a Queen of Ayodhya in place of Bharath.
Vasishta Maharshi told all these things boldly to enable understand by Kaikeyi.
Next Chapter : Part 32 Sri Ramayana (Ayodhya Kaanda)
Sita:
She understood all the discussions of Ram, Vasishta Maharshi and Kaikeyi etc.
Anyway, I’ll be with Ram.
I’ll move along with Ram to vanavasa (Forest stay).
In the absence of Ram in Ayodhya, I can’t stay in Ayodhya even a single minute.
Moreover, this won’t be respectable to me and to Ram.
Wherever the husband stay, there the wife should be.
This is SanatanaDharm, and in our customs we follow.
My staying alone in Ayodhya is not possible and also it is not proper.
King Dasarath:
He got big angry on Kaika.
Kaika, look, pleased withdraw your two commitments.
You’re behaving like a crocked lady and behaving with dirty dreams.
My opinion is that, my residing in Ayodhya without Ram tantamount to sin.
King Janaka’s daughter Sita is very delicate, soft in nature and innocent too.
Sita is our daughter-in-law.
Sita is Ram’s beloved wife.
Sita is the eldest daughter-in-law.
I’m feeling much bad on this type of situation coming to Ram and Sita.
Sita’s father and mother feel bad on me.
They think that King Dasarath has no value and fit for nothing.
All people of Ayodhya knew well that for all these happenings only Kaikeyi is responsible one.
So also, as the people will brand Dasarath as a waste King.
Dasarath was weepingand the tears from his face rolled down like a River.
Ram:
Dear father, I could understand your feelings and sentiments.
Look father, what the things to happen, such things do happen.
You do not worry about me father.
I’ll fulfill father and mother Kaikey’s commitment.
Please honor and respect my father and mother in this Rajmandir, this is my appeal, told to Rajmandir staff.
Kousalya: (Ram’s mother)
She wept and hugged Ram.
…………
Parents, VasishtaMaharshi, Brahmin purohits and pundits blessed Sita, Ram and Lakshman.
All the Brahmin purohits and pundits told Ram, that they will also accompany ram to the Aranyavasa (Forest stay).
Then Ram, Sita and Lakshman made a move on the Chariot in Ayodhyanagar streets.
At one time Ram got down from his Chariot and walked along with all the purohits and pundits and others.
Purohits and pundits followed Ram, Sita and Lakshman up to “Tamasa River” and slept that night.
The next day Sita, Ram and Lakshman moved forward from that “Ramasa River”.
All other purohits and pundits returned back to Ayodhyanagar.
All the people’s voice reverberated for few days that when there is no Ram in Ayodhya, what for one should stay in Ayodhyanagar.
We don’t need Bharath’s Rule of Kingdom.
We can’t live in this Ayodhya in Kaikeyi’s control.
Wherever Ram and Sita stay, that place will get flourished, all people said.
How can one flourish and prosper in this Ayodhyanagar in the absence of Ram?
Our heart and Soul are not accepting this.
Purohits or pundits o anybody for that matter, should not attend to any festival/ceremony/function/celebration in Ayodhya; people opined.
