SCENE 10

Sita wanted to move along with Ram to Aranyavasa (Vanavasa).

Ram explained about the hardships and bottlenecks to be confronted during the stay in the forest.

Sita
Sita

Sita was in happy moods in her mandir.

Sita was planning all the things needed for the purpose of Ram’s crowning ceremony, as a King of Ayodhya.

At that time, Ram came to Sita’s home/mandir.

Sita observed Ram’s face and was worried about Ram, as to what happened to him.

Sita also observed that Ram was uneasy and thought that something went wrong.

Sita has some suspicion on Ram’s uneasy face.

Sita had a thought that Ram won’t come to her residence alone.

Ram will come along with his ministers, rajpurohits and some mandir pundits.

What happened to Ram? Sita gave a thought on this.

Sita had a big doubt that Ram’s coming alone with a sad looking face, lead to something wrong in him

Ram after sometime explained all the things to Sita in detail.

Ram’s father King Dasarath’s giving two commitments to Kaikeyi.

These two commitments, Ram said to Sita, that Bharath be crowned as a King and that Ram go to forest for 14 years.

Ram explained to Sita, all the subjects in detail.

Ram had told Sita some points, which are as follows:

Ram
Ram

-That Sita should never praise Ram in the presence of Bharath.

-That you (Sita) should not ask for more respects and honors than Urmila and Sruthakeerthi.

-Bharath’s crowning ceremony is likely to take place.

-Then I will leave for the forest and stay for 14 years.

-That you should extend hospitality to my mother and father in my absence (Kousalya and King Dasarath).

Sita
Sita

Sita got angry for these words of Ram.

Sita refrained herself and could not spell out a word to Ram.

Sita asked Ram, what is this? What are these words?

You’re speaking like a low-grade-man.

You’re the eldest son in your family.

Why has this situation come?

I’m unable to understand all these matters.

You’ve learnt so many astra-sastras.

You’ve born in a Royal family.

You’re fully educated.

You’re the King of Ayodhya.

You’re speaking, as if you’re nothing.

Are you a covered person?

Are you incapable of handling these issues in your family?

Are you a Raj Kumar, fit for nothing?

How dare you accept your father’s desire?

Why Kaika should interfere in our affairs.

She is the step-mother.

All these nonsense things will get a bad name to our Suryavamsh and Ikshwakuvams.

Your words are all meaningless.

Look Ram, I don’t need diamonds, gold and great service to me from anybody.

I got married to you to make a good life and to lead the life.

I’ll do service to you, as you’re my husband.

If things are inevitable and inescapable on all these issues, then no problem, I’ll accompany you to the forest vanavasa.

I‘llcome and be with you for all the 14 years.

I’ve no objection to this.

I’ll serve you in the forest.

I’ve no problem at all.

Wherever you go, I’ll be with you.

What more I need.

I’ll stay even underneath a tree.

When you’re there, I’ve no fear.

I’ll not get afraid of anything while I am with you in the vanavasa forest.

I’m stubborn and strong.

I’ll definitely be with you for all these 14 years.

You please do not say anything to me, Sita said to Ram.

I’ll follow your footsteps.

Even in hardships, I will lead a happy life and I’ll bear with it.

When Ram is there why should I fear and what for?

I knew your Shakti and strength.

Whatever the problems, crop up, I will stay and be with you in a fearless way;

I’ll eat fruits and stay.

So, I’ll come with you to the forest

You knew well, Ram, in the Sanatana Dharma, wherever the husband goes, there the wife will also accompany her husband,

I can’t leave you even a single minute Ram.

If I live with you for 14 years in the forest, I feel like it’s only a 14 hours stay in the forest.

What for my life without you and in your absence.

I don’t even need this Ayodhya Kingdom.

I don’t like to be a queen.

Wherever Ram is, there the Sita is and will be living happily with Peace of mind.

Ram:

Ram
Ram

He heard all the Sita’s words.

Look Sita, you should know well what the forest means.

Cruel animals will be there.

Demons will be there.

There will be no light.

Everything will be dark.

The forest atmosphere would be fearful.

One has to travel by walking.

One has to sleep underneath the trees.

There will be poisonous snakes.

There will be lions and tigers, fix etc.

One won’t get food.

One has to live on fruits only, if necessary one has to starve even sometimes.

One’s life in the forest will be dangerous.

Their lives will be at risk.

Sita:

Sita and Ram
Sita and Ram

Look Ram, I heard you all the things.

Wherever Ram is, there is Sita.

I’ve prepared for all the eventualities and consequences.

Further, I won’t listen to you Ram.

After getting married to you, my husband is Ram only and I will be with Ram once for all.

You are only my guardian and I know well that you’ll take care of me.

If I am with Ram, it’s my pleasure and respect that I preserve it.

As such, please do not tell me anything to me.

Please accept my accompanying you to the forest vanavasa.

If you, by any chance, do not take me along with you, then I’ll die myself in the fire.

Ram:

Sita and Ram
Sita and Ram

Look Sita, I know your agony, anxiety and disturbed mind.

I don’t want you to land in trouble in the forest.

In that aspect only I told you not to accompany me to the forest vanavasa.

I’m also feeling bad about this.

Now I am much relieved from my tensions.

I could learn your inner feelings.

I knew well that you’ve a big heart.

I knew well that you’ve broad-minded.
