Sita and Ram’s fasting time – Kousalya’s (Ram’s mother) blessing
King Dasaradha’s ambition of making Ram as King, after crowning, was very strong. The same thing King Dasaradha wanted to inform Ram. King Dasaradha wanted to make a Coronation Ceremony and to make Ram to be crowned as King.
Ram, after learning this ceremony and thought that this is correct, went to mother’s mandir place (Kousalya’s place).
At that time in the Kousalya’s mandir, Sumitra (3rd wife of King Dasaradha, her son Lakshman) and Sita were present.
Ram conveyed the King Dasaratha’s ambition of making Ram as King in a ceremonial function.
Moreover, on the advice of Vasishta Maharshi and Kousalya, before the ceremony function, Sita and Ram have gone in for a fasting time.
People of Ayodhyanagar, rushis, maharshis, purohits, Brahmin pundits, Rajmandir staff and well-wishers were very happy and lit lights in the entire Ayodhya as a sign of their happiness and all were enjoying the good news. The entire Ayodhya looked like a festival environment.
Everybody in Ayodhyanagar knew about Ram’s crowning as a King.
Ayodhyanagar was seen with glittering lights. Everywhere in Ayodhya looked in a festive mood. There was a pleasant environment. All the people in the Ayodhyanagar, Raj Darbar and in the Rajmandir, were very happy and sober.
“Morniong 11.00 AM – Rajmandir –Purohits – Vasishta Maharshi – Kousalya Devi – Ram etc.”
King Dasaradha:
Hey! Ram, I’ve to inform you of one important thing.
Ram:
My Pranams (Namaskar) father.
Please tell me your inner feelings and ambitions.
King Dasaradha:
Look Ram, you’ve completed learning all types of education including astra-sastra.
You’ve learnt all the saastraas also with the blessing of Vasishta Maharshi.
I want to Crown you as a King, in a ceremonial function.
You’re the eldest son to me.
Therefore, you should be ready for this Crowning ceremony.
Ram:
Yes, father.
I’ll inform my mother, Kousalya Devi.
After knowing my mother’s wish and after giving the acceptance to this Crowning ceremony, I’ll come back to you and give my node.
King Dasaradha:
My blessings to you Ram.
(Ram left for Kousalya Devi’s Mandir)
At that time Sita, Sumitra (3rd wife of King Dasaradha) and Lakshman (Sumitra’s son) were waiting in the Rajmandir.
Kousalya Devi:
Come on Ram.
My blessings to you.
Ram:
Look mother.
I shall project father’s wish and ambition to you.
Father, King Dasaradha wanted to make me crowned as a King in a Ceremonial function.
I’ve come here to inform you of the same thing.

Kousalya Devi:
I’m happy dear son, Ram.
Father’s wish can be fulfilled.
My whole-hearted wishes to you and also my blessings to you.
Ram:
I’ll also inform this to our Rajguru Vasishta Maharshi.
Kousalya Devi:
Okay, dear son, Ram.
At that time Rajguru Vasishta Maharshi came to Kousalya’s mandir.
Ram:
Mother, look, I’ll inform Father’s wish and ambition to Vasishta Maharshi.
Vasishta Maharshi:
My best wishes and blessings to Ram, Sita, Sumitra and Lakshman.
Kousalya Devi:
Maharshi Gurudev, as per Dasaradhmaharaj, we’ve decided to make the Crowning ceremony and Ram be crowned as a King.
Vasishta Maharshi:
It’s good news Kousalya
I’ve one thing to say here.
Before this ceremonial function, if Sita and Ram make a fasting day, I think everything will be good, what my mind says.
Kousalya Devi:
Yes, of course, Maharshi.
Hey, Son, Ram.
Yourself and my daughter in-law Sita to make a fasting day.
This fasting subject I’ll inform your father Dasaradh maharaja.
Ram:
Look mother, I also shall inform father about Sita’s fasting day.
I’ll go to my father’s place now.
Kousalya Devi:
Okay Ram, I wish you good luck.

Vasishta Maharshi:
Hey Ram, my blessings to you.
Please go ahead Ram
(All will get dispersed from Rajmandir).
Ram leaves for King Dasaradh’s place.
Ram:
Dear father, I’ve discussed all the points and subjects with mother Kousalya.
I am planning to do fasting along with Sita for my good thing as per the advice of Vasishta maharshi and mother.
Kousalya has given her node.
King Dasaradha:
Okay Ram
I’ll inform the same to our mantri’s (minister’s) and ask them in turn to inform the Ayodhya Nagar people.
(Next day morning the entire Ayodhyanagar was glittering with lights. People were celebrating as if it’s a festival.
Ram’s Coronation Ceremony news spread like a wildfire. The entire Rajmandir was shining with lights. All the people were in happy moods.
