Many start-ups begin operations from home. Here are some tips to make your home office more functional, efficient and inspiring.
Ever since Bengaluru became India’s start-up hub, work from home’s a new trend popular among many entrepreneurs. So, home offices are here to stay. This could be a small nook in your living room, a spare room or even the space under your staircase.
It is quite important to make that separation between work and home in this pace. You may think it is fine to use your old dusty studyable, but it is essential to have a separate space for work, so you are not temped to work all the time and can shut sop at the end of the day. Some of these home office essentials will help you separate work and home, and achieve work-life balance
DESK SPACE, SEATING
Use a desk that accommodates your desktop computer and gives you space to take down notes or even doodle. Keep your desk clutter-free and devoid of distractions. A desk with an adjustable height system to suit your height and comfort level makes a huge difference. It is totally worth investing in an ergonomically-designed, comfortable chair. While choosing one, consider the long hours you will work for, the nature of work and the environment you will place it in.

STORAGE
Storage is pretty integral to any functional home office to store your files, reference books, stationery or even the printer. It could be a storage cabinet over your desk, a file cabinet under, or a free stand shelf next to the desk. Are you on a tight budget?
Open shelves with colourful plastic trays could work and een add some style to the room.
LIGHTING
Natural lighting is a must. It is a well-known fact that natural lighting improves productivity and work atmosphere. Find a space close to a window, preferably looking out. That can act as a gentle reminder to take a break, now burn out.
If you don’t have a window nearby, use artificial lighting. A good desk lamp and some ambient lighting will help. Add some LED strips under your overhead cabinets to make the space inviting.
INSPIRATION
Pin-up boards or inspiration boards add pep to the décor and even reflect your personality. So, get creative and make your space all about you. All inspirational photographs, posters, quotes or vertical organizers lend character.
You could have regular push pin boards, exposed cork boars or even a metal sheet with magnets.
